GreenPan Reserve

If you don’t need a full cookware set but could use a new nonstick pan or two, you can get the 10-inch GreenPan Padova Reserve frying pan (along with an 8-inch version). And like the cookware set listed above, the GreenPan tops our list of nonstick cookware. Eggs easily slide out one after another, leaving nothing behind and earning a stellar score on the food-release test. Cooking evenness is also top-notch. The handle stays cool to the touch and is sturdy. While the nonstick ceramic coating does well in our durability tests, some other skillets fare better.

Ayesha Curry Covered Dutch Oven

The 6-quart Ayesha Curry Dutch oven, a great option for any cooktop, including induction, is among the easiest to clean of all the models we’ve tested, garnering an excellent score on that test. But weighing in at 15 pounds, this Dutch oven is the heaviest of the 10 in our ratings, and the cooking surface measures only 7 inches in diameter. It heats up quickly but is only so-so at simmering sauce, so you’ll have to be vigilant when you use it for that purpose. That said, it produced a nice loaf of bread in our baking test.

Spice by Tia Mowry Savory Saffron 96240.02RR

Tia Mowry’s Dutch oven heats up quickly and bakes bread with a crispy crust, earning top marks on both tests. It’s almost as good at simmering sauces and heats evenly. Best of all, it’s a cinch to clean. It weighs almost 14 pounds and has a cooking surface that’s 8 inches in diameter.

All-Clad Essentials

This All-Clad Essentials two-piece set (an 8.5-inch and a 10.5-inch pan) was among the top-rated in our tests, getting especially strong scores for cooking evenness and handle temperature. Plus, it released fried eggs easily.

Coop Home Goods The Original

The Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Loft Pillow is made of shredded memory foam and excels in our tests for support, no matter your size or sleep position. The Coop also keeps its shape well, showing little to no change in height or fluffiness in our resilience tests. Each pillow comes with extra foam, so you can adjust the filling to your liking. The only area where this pillow falls a bit short is in breathability—it sleeps slightly warm.

Brooklyn Bedding Talalay Latex High Loft

The Talalay latex pillows from Brooklyn Bedding may be a good choice for side sleepers because they get above-average scores for that test. They’re a bit subpar for back sleepers, though. But these pillows got top marks for breathability, so they should help with temperature control while you sleep.

GhostBed Shredded (2pk)

This GhostBed pillow, made of shredded memory foam pieces with a polyester fiber cover, is a great option if you sleep on your side or back. Sleepers can customize their level of support by removing some of the shredded foam pieces and polyester gel fibers in the pillow. In our testing, removing filling for back sleepers improved support. Smaller sleepers will likely need to remove more filling than larger sleepers. Side sleepers, both petite and larger, will find that removing a small amount of filling might improve support. It earns just middling marks in our resilience test but aces our breathability test.

Tuft & Needle Original Foam

The Tuft & Needle Original Foam Pillow is made of polyurethane foam and comes with a micro-polyamide and polyester cover. Despite this composition, testers found that the pillow excels in breathability. It is a great choice for side sleepers, but less ideal for back sleepers, according to our lab tests. Expect its firmness, height, and support to remain consistent with use.

L.L.Bean Wicked Good Slippers

These L.L.Bean Wicked Good Slippers have a lot going for them; they’re made with sheepskin and lined with super-soft shearling (the pelt of sheepskin). Though none of our testers ranked them in the gutter, they were not the favorites, either. Some testers found their heels slipping uncomfortably out of the back of the slipper while walking, and the rawhide ties appear mostly for aesthetics. The sale price is available only for the Bramble Berry colorway.

Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3520/60

With the Philips SmartSleep Wake-Up Light, you can wake up to one of five nature sounds or an FM radio. According to the manufacturer’s description, the clock glows with red, orange, and yellow colors that ultimately brighten to a maximum intensity of 300 lux (a measure of illuminance an object produces). You can adjust brightness levels according to your preference. Pressing snooze will temporarily shut off the sound alarm but not the light, which may keep you from falling back asleep (a good thing, if you truly want to wake up). The SmartSleep is pretty easy to set up and use, receiving high marks in both categories. Those needing help winding down at bedtime will also find the Philips wake-up light worth it for its simulated sunset feature.

Apple AirPods (2nd Gen) with Wireless Charging Case

Though the second-generation AirPods don’t get high marks for sound in Consumer Reports’ testing, there’s no denying the appeal of these true wireless earphones for many Apple fans—especially at such a big discount.

Sennheiser CX Plus

The Sennheiser CX Plus offers impressive value in a true wireless noise-canceling earbud. According to our testers, it’s a solid performer when it comes to sound quality, with warm, impactful bass, married to a brighter, but still musical, midrange and trebles. It also receives top scores when it comes to active noise cancellation and offers a transparency mode that allows you to add in some outside sounds for safety when you’re, say, walking on a city street or on a road with traffic. The CX Plus may appear to be a bit bulky, but our testers find the fit to be fine for most users.

Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Studio Buds +

The Beats Studio Buds + don’t wear the Apple name, but Apple owns Beats by Dre and you can buy these true wireless earbuds at the Apple Store. Like AirPods, they’re sleek and stylish, and work seamlessly with an iPhone or another Apple device. More to the point, the Studio Buds + perform the same as the previous-gen Studio Buds and offer satisfying sound and impressive noise-canceling performance for under $100.

Bose Soundlink Micro

The tiny SoundLink Micro is cute and hyper-portable, and comes with a strap that allows you to lash it to a bicycle, backpack, or stroller. Bose claims that it’s IP67 water-resistant, too, so it’s a good choice for wet and wild action. But if the Micro’s small size isn’t very important to you and you have a few extra dollars in your budget, you might consider the slightly larger and better-sounding SoundLink Color II instead.

Google Nest Audio

If you prefer Google Assistant to Alexa, the Google Nest Audio may be a good choice. Alexa smart speakers have a wider variety of skills and can be great for shopping on Amazon, but some users like Google’s powerful search function and find Google’s interface to be more natural and easier to use.

While Google brags about the Nest Audio’s sonic performance, our testers found that the gains were more modest. The speaker generates enough volume for a midsized room, but the midrange is a little hazy and there’s some sizzle on the high frequencies. While it’s better than the old Google Home, the Nest Audio still can’t compete with the best-sounding smart speakers. It also doesn’t sound quite as good as the similarly priced fourth-gen Amazon Echo.

JBL Charge 4

Think of the Charge 4 as the smaller sibling of JBL’s Xtreme 2. Its light weight and more modest dimensions make it a great choice for those who enjoy carrying a speaker with them. It’s easy to use and has admirable sound quality for a portable speaker. The Charge 4 also features an internal power bank that can charge other devices, and the manufacturer says the device is waterproof to 1 meter, a claim that CR didn’t test.

Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder

The Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder earns solid scores in all our grind-performance tests, and it’s particularly great at producing coarse grounds, which are ideal for cold-brew and French press coffee. This model is also easy to clean, but its controls are a bit unintuitive, and it’s one of the noisier grinders in our ratings. The Bodum features 12 grind settings, an auto-stop feature, and a timer.

Keurig K-Mini Plus

The Keurig K-Mini Plus is a great little Keurig brewer that’s ideal for small kitchens with limited counter space. In our tests, it receives strong scores for temperature and size consistency between cups, as well as how easy it is to use and clean. It features a removable reservoir, a height-adjustable drip tray, and auto-shutoff.

Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91

For a brewer with a thermal carafe, consider this deal on the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91. Our tests show that thermal carafes aren’t as easy to hold and pour as glass carafes, but this machine still performs decently for handling. It also offers great brew performance and is quite easy to clean and use.

Keurig K-Latte Single Serve K-36

The Keurig K-Latte Single Serve K-36 can brew both hot coffee and lattes thanks to its built-in milk frother. It performs well in our tests, especially for its temperature and size consistency between brews. It’s equipped with an auto-shutoff, a height-adjustable drip tray, and a removable water reservoir.

Braun BrewSense 12-cup Programmable KF7000BK

The Braun BrewSense 12-cup Programmable KF7000BK is an all-around great coffee maker, offering strong brew performance, an easy-to-pour carafe, and plenty of convenient features. Those features include auto-shutoff, a water filter, programming, a cleaning indicator, and a permanent filter.

Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT

The Instant Vortex 4 Plus Air Fryer 4QT is a standout for the legibility of its digital controls, relatively low noise levels, and ease of cleaning. What’s more, its square basket design makes it easy to fit in a small pyrex dish or baking pan — great for turning out sweet treats. The measured 3-quart model has a 1-year warranty.

Ninja AF101

The electronic controls and programmed settings on the Ninja AF101 are among the easiest to see and use, earning high ratings in our assessments. Cleaning the inside and outside is fairly simple, and the measured capacity is just about average at 3 quarts. Bear in mind that this model runs on the noisy side, with the fan as loud as a countertop microwave.

Oster 2143023 800-Watt Power Blender Touchscreen Controls

Daiquiris, soups, and cleanup are a breeze in this 500-watt blender with touchscreen controls, a removable stainless steel blade, and glass jar. It’s dishwasher safe with five speeds, six-cup capacity, as well as smoothie, salsa, and pulse features. And it has a prime price that’s $25 off.

KitchenAid Architect KHM7210 7-Speed

Small but mighty, the seven-speed KitchenAid Architect KHM7210 hand mixer performed impressively in our cookie dough mixing test, delivering enough power to fold chocolate chips into stiff cookie dough. Testers liked this model’s easy-to-clean wire beaters, simple controls, and separate whisk attachment (great for scrambling eggs).

Super Benriner Mandoline

The Benriner is pretty intuitive to use straight out of the box. It’s large enough to slice an onion but not an Italian eggplant. It comes with three blades that shred, julienne, or thread-cut vegetables. The plastic feels sturdy and strong, unlike many of the other models we tried. And the blades are replaceable—if you lose them or they become dull with use—and are sold separately for about $10 each. Our evaluators found that the blade had a hard time with soft foods, and the julienne blades can’t handle harder veggies like carrots or sweet potatoes. But the whole tool comes apart for easy cleaning.

Commercial Chef CHM770B

Small microwaves tend to be underpowered, and the Commercial Chef CHM770B is no exception. But it may be all you need for a college dorm or home office. This one is a champ at heating evenness, acing our mashed potato test, but it’s a slowpoke at heating a simple bowl of water. It’s average at defrosting and pretty quiet. And for the price, it’s worth a look. Use the code 4DORM to get the full discount.

Eufy Spaceview

The Eufy comes with its own display and handles the video feed locally, so it doesn’t have the privacy and security issues of internet-connected models. Our testers reported that the screen is bright, sharp, and relatively large, and they found it to be the easiest monitor to use.

Safety 1st Step Lite Compact Stroller

As with many umbrella strollers, this Safety 1st Step Lite Compact stroller is compact when folded and maneuverable when in use, even though it weighs 17 pounds. Its pockets provide additional storage options beyond the standard basket and/or tray. But testers found the shape of the handles uncomfortable to grip despite the padding.

Baby Trend Snap N Go EX

This lightweight stroller is designed to carry a handful of different brands and models of car seats. The car seat is supported and secured by straps on the stroller—so the “snap” is something of a misnomer, but it’s still easy enough to secure and remove. The stroller is fairly simple to fold, though it’s maybe not quite a one-hand fold: Testers found that they needed to use two hands to push the frame down and engage the fold lock. They also found that the stroller pulled a little when they took turns around corners, but it’s a good ride on smooth surfaces.

Itzy Ritzy Mini Diaper Bag

This Itzy Ritzy mini diaper bag is heavy on chic appeal. It’s a mini bag with eight pockets (four inside and four outside). While you’d think that limits it to smaller families, CR found that it can hold more than you may realize thanks to a U-shaped zipper that offers full access to the main compartment when unzipped. Another favorite feature of ours: Rubber feet on the bottom help keep it upright when you need to set it down, which keeps potential scuffs and dirt at bay. The bag is lightweight, comfortable to tote, and easy to clean.

HP LaserJet M209dwe

Black-and-white laser printers don’t get enough love from everyday shoppers. A machine like the HP LaserJet M209dwe can be far cheaper to operate than nearly any inkjet, while spewing out very sharp, clear text at impressive speeds. Now, this is a barebones machine. It only prints in black-and-white. It’s pretty inept at producing graphics, and it lacks the ability to copy or scan documents.

Oh, and about that 6-month deal on cartridges: You’ll need to set up an HP account, and maintain the printer’s internet access. (Note that the printer only accepts HP toner cartridges.) If you’re okay with all that, the HP LaserJet M209dwe can be a good deal. What it does, it does extremely well, while consuming a modest corner of a desk—and an even smaller slice of a household budget.

Ring Stick Up Cam (Battery) 3rd gen

The third-generation Ring Stick Up Cam (Battery) is an all-around great camera, and thanks to Prime Day, it’s now $10 less than the best price we’ve seen previously. It works both indoors and outdoors and gives you monitoring zones, voice and app control via Amazon Alexa, and alert schedules so that you can silence alerts at certain times of the day. In our tests, this Ring camera receives strong scores for video quality, response time, and data security. Cloud video storage and additional features (such as person detection) require a Ring Protect subscription.

Blink Outdoor Security (3rd Gen)

Blink security cameras strike a good balance between price and quality, and right now they’re at least 50 percent off. They’re among the lower-cost models CR has tested, and they have above-average performance in a few areas, but they tend to fall short when it comes to features. The Outdoor camera has top scores for data security and response time, and its video quality is above average. Video clips can be stored in the cloud with a Blink subscription plan or locally for free by plugging a USB drive into the included Blink Sync Module 2.

Arlo Essential Indoor Security Wired VMC2040-100NAS

If you’re looking for an indoor security camera to keep an eye on your pets, our editors found the Arlo Essential Indoor to be a close second to the Furbo dog camera. And even though the Arlo is technically a home security camera, which means it lacks functionalities like tossing treats, it still provides the necessary technology for checking in on your pets. The device’s video angle and video quality are great, and its corresponding app is easy to use. While the setup is a bit tricky—and the privacy shield makes a noise that could alert your pet when it comes on—it does impress as far as sound.

Bosma Aegis Smart Lock SL0001

The Bosma Aegis Smart Lock SL0001 receives high scores across the board in our tests, including ease of remote access. This retrofit smart lock also comes with plenty of features, such as auto-locking, auto-unlocking, voice and app control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, electronic keys, an access log, a door open/close sensor, and a tamper alarm to warn you of a possible break in.

Rusk W8less 2000 Hair Dryer

The Rusk W8less is a great, no-frills option for when you’re on the go. It’s lightweight, gets nice and hot, and, unlike many hotel hair dryers, doesn’t smoke and singe your hair. The W8less has three heat settings, two-speed settings, and a cool shot. It comes with one concentrator nozzle. And it has an internal ion generator plus a ceramic and tourmaline-infused grill to fight that frizz.

Hot Tools Pro Artist Black Gold Evolve Ionic Salon Hair Flat Iron (1 in)

Nearly every stylist we’ve encountered uses Hot Tools. And while a hair stylist’s touch is certainly useful when it comes to great-looking hair, Hot Tools’ 1-inch straightener performed really well by itself for its price, heating up fast (it sits at just under 350° F) and providing a variety of heat settings (with the lowest temperature coming in at 205° F). It was easy to use, and it has a long cord, but don’t leave it plugged in: Auto shutoff doesn’t kick in until after two hours of disuse. The 1.25-inch model is also on sale at Amazon for a similar price.

Cat Mate C3000 Automatic Dog & Cat Feeder, 26-cup Capacity

This automatic feeder allows pet owners to schedule up to three meals a day in any desired quantity. The device has a maximum capacity of 26 cups and can be programmed to give out meals as small as 2 teaspoons.

Fitbit Inspire 2

The Fitbit Inspire 2 fitness tracker has been on sale since mid-April, but the price continues to fall. It’s now only $7 more than the lowest we’ve seen all year. It gets top marks from our testers for step count and heart rate accuracy, and it earns a spot among the best fitness trackers for its ease of use, pairing, and readability in low light. The Inspire 2 also has a very generous claimed battery life of 10 days (we don’t test that characteristic) and built-in GPS, a feature not found on many other fitness trackers.

Phomemo M110 Label Maker

The Phomemo M110 is the bigger, bulkier version of the Phomemo D30, which we also tested and liked. The M110 offers a bit more flexibility with the size of the label you’re creating. It uses the same app as well, and has a wide variety of fonts, styles, and images, with quick creation and easy label cutting. Its size, compared with the smaller Phomemo, makes it a bit less portable, and its alignment isn’t as precise when it comes to cutting the label exactly on the cut line compared with other label printers. But it’s still a solid option.

Ekster Senate Cardholder

The Ekster Senate Cardholder features a design that keeps that pop-up switch level with the aluminum card holder. It includes a cash strap and single card holder with the company’s logo emblazoned on the front, and you can keep a card on the outside, such as a Metro card, for tap-to-go. The company includes an extra strap without a card holder, to slim things down even further, inside a very beautiful box.
